The Parish Council’s Annual Awards went before the start of its December meeting, adapting to the constraints imposed by suddenly reintroduced Covid restrictions. As a result the TV cameras and paparazzi may have been absent from Tipps Cross Remembrance Hall but that didn’t prevent the occasion’s cancellation
Separate presentations were made to Ann Davis of Blackmore and Ted Hall of Hook End.
Ann, before her recent retirement from nursing, was a familar and friendly face for many parishioners at Deal Tree GP Surgery. Her contribution to the well-being of local residents has now been officially recognised.
Ted Hall has devoted five decades to performing voluntary services on behalf of the community. Not least among his many achievements has been to rescue the old Tipps Cross Remembrance Hall from threatend closure by Brentwood Council. It has since been transformed into a modern vibrant venue and resource used by a wide variety of groups and individuals from throughout the area.
