Events centred on the Parish War Memorial and the village green will commence at 9.30 am with a gathering involving primary age children.  Other activities will be held during the day, culminating with a formal proclamation by the Parish Cryer and the lighting of the beacon at 9.30 pm.    

There is an archaic Local Government legal obligation for civic parishes to hold an Annual Assembly to which all residents are invited to participate.  The Assembly is not a Parish Council event but it usually falls to the Council to facilitate it taking place at a suitable time and location to satisfy the legislative  requirements.
